In this session, a panel of leading security experts will be joining Phil Quade to discuss the Fortinet CISO's forthcoming new book, ‘The Digital Big Bang.’
Most of human history is a story of superstition and survival. It was only when we started paying attention to the core elements of the Universe, and developed the scientific method to understand and leverage how they worked together, that we finally became masters of our world. Likewise, for most of the information age, security professionals have taken a piecemeal approach to securing their digital assets—and like our stone age forbearers, this approach to survival has barely been adequate.
We are now standing at the edge of a new Digital Age, where the principles of speed and interconnectivity are changing our world. What we do next will determine whether we are headed into a dystopia where cybercrime dictates our lives, or a utopia where we become the masters of our future. Choosing the latter requires taking a scientific approach to security, where we identify and understand its core elements and principles, and then map the steps needed to shape the future we want.
Join our panel of security experts—and book co-authors—to discuss the fundamental elements of security, how they are interrelated, and how we can bind them together to intentionally build a new approach to security that will allow us to thrive in the Digital Age.
