But for these changes to achieve their transformational potential, their security implications need to be understood and planned for to be fully realized.

Security professionals need to recognize the moment: this is a revolution that can change the world.  If we recognize the moment -and such moments are fleeting- we can serve the world in nearly unprecedented ways.
